After all, air conditioning systems can cause injury if they aren’t maintained properly. There are many lawsuits involving air conditioner leaks.

Class action lawsuits against Goodman

Air conditioning companies are increasingly facing class action lawsuits over refrigerant leaks, and the company that makes Goodman products is one of them. Although the company makes products under the Amana and Goodman brand names, many consumers have complained about air conditioning systems that fail to perform up to standard. In this article, we’ll explore the class action suit filed against Goodman and Amana.

The complaint outlines the circumstances surrounding a series of air conditioning unit leaks that have affected Pennsylvania consumers since 2007. The company is estimating that the leaking air conditioning system in the case is worth up to $803 million. However, the United States Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation (JPML) rejected a proposal to centralize six putative class action lawsuits against Goodman, led by Jonathan Shub, Lorenzo Cellini, Gary Mason, Monica Bansal, and Roberta Kotsur.

The complaint cites customer complaints and HVAC technicians. It alleges that 80% of Goodman air conditioners had leaks, which prompted consumers to file a class action lawsuit against the company. Goodman’s response was to offer a $300 repair voucher to distributors, but the warranty only covered defective parts. It failed to cover diagnostic costs and replacement refrigerants. Therefore, Goodman was unable to compensate consumers for these problems.

Class action lawsuits against Amana

Consumers who have gotten their air conditioning units from Amana and Goodman have filed class action lawsuits to demand compensation for the leaking evaporator coils. The company failed to inform consumers of this defect, which led to rust and formicary corrosion. As a result, this lawsuit has now spread across Canada. This lawsuit is being filed on behalf of consumers nationwide.

The complaint alleges that the copper evaporator coils inside the air conditioning units are defective and prone to rust and corrosion, resulting in refrigerant leaks. Because these leaks are difficult to detect, consumers are forced to repeatedly refill their air conditioners with Freon to cover up the problem. The defect may never be fully repaired, and the unit needs to be replaced.

The Florida class action lawsuits allege that the air conditioning units sold by Goodman and Amana shattered the warranty on their evaporator coils. Consumers who bought Goodman or Amana air conditioners between 2006 and 2012 were affected. In addition to leaking refrigerant, consumers who bought these air conditioners paid hundreds or even thousands of dollars for repairs.
