Plymouth County District Attorney

Gavin July 7, 2022July 5, 2022

When you read about the candidates for Plymouth County district attorney, you may wonder, “What makes these people unique?” This article focuses on Tim Cruz, Jack Callahan, Edward G. Jacobs, and Rahsaan Hall. You will also learn about their accomplishments as prosecutors. The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office has many important responsibilities and works with the county’s police department to keep crime rates low.

Tim Cruz

As the district attorney for Plymouth County, Tim Cruz works aggressively to bring the criminals to justice. As a former prosecutor, he is dedicated to protecting the public from criminals and promoting public safety. In addition to pursuing criminals, Cruz’s office has implemented several community-based prevention programs, such as drug and alcohol education. In addition to his work as a district attorney, Cruz also focuses on preventing crime by increasing community safety and law enforcement suppression efforts.

Racist e-mails shared among prosecutors in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, are troubling. The e-mails reflect poorly on the prosecutors and the leadership of the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office. The fact that prosecutors use state-issued e-mail addresses and computers financed by taxpayer dollars, raises questions about their ethics. While the ACLU will continue to investigate Cruz’s office, the ACLU has already filed a lawsuit against the district attorney.

Rahsaan Hall

A new candidate is running for district attorney in Plymouth County. Rahsaan Hall, director of the ACLU’s racial justice program, is planning to run for district attorney. Hall is challenging incumbent Timothy Cruz, who has served in the post since 2001. Hall says he is inspired to run by a voter engagement program at his nonprofit. Hall also cites his background and experiences as an African-American, which he argues is an asset.

Hall, a former assistant district attorney and the director of the ACLU’s racial justice program, has a long history of fighting for the rights of victims of racial and ethnic crimes. He would face longtime Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz, who has served in the post since 2001 and has never faced a Republican primary challenger. Cruz has received the endorsements of various law enforcement groups and has 57 percent of the general election vote.

Edward G. Jacobs

The Office of the Plymouth County District Attorney has launched a program to help families dealing with drug-related crime. This initiative aims to identify children who may have been affected by the use of drugs or alcohol in the home. The Office also has worked with local law enforcement agencies, schools, and other organizations to address the issue of childhood trauma. The Office has held hundreds of training and awareness sessions on topics including Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Additionally, it has partnered with Harvard Law School to develop the “Handle With Care” communication protocol for law enforcement.

The Office of the Plymouth County District Attorney has also launched a “Lifelines to Healing” program, to reduce violence in the area. This program aims to reduce recidivism by involving community members, police officers, pastors, and representatives of the mayor’s office to mentor those at risk of crime. The program will continue to develop as it grows. And there is no end in sight.

Jack Callahan

The Plymouth County District Attorney has announced the arrest of Jack Callahan. The 19-year-old suspect was arrested on June 22 and held without bail after pleading not guilty to murder. The case has been moved to Plymouth Superior Court. The suspect will be arraigned on August 12.

During the investigation, the Massachusetts State Police contacted the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office. The investigation revealed that Callahan traveled to Boston and retrieved his father by rideshare. The two men got into an altercation at Island Creek Pond, where the father was found unconscious and with water in his lungs. Callahan claimed he was baptizing his father and that he hit him in self-defense. However, it was later revealed that Callahan did not baptize his father.

After the investigation, a grand jury returned an indictment against Callahan. The indictment alleges that the teen drank a bottle of alcohol before drowning his father. He claimed that he was attempting to rid his father of demons, but authorities said he was drowning him. Callahan told authorities he dunked his father’s head repeatedly in the water to “cleanse him of his demons.”
